- EIT or PE designation
- Competency with Autodesk and other structural modeling and calculation software
- The ability to request, manage, and review relevant project data, studies, plans, and contextual issues
- Ability to prepare design drawings and technical specifications
- Mathematical skills
- Familiarity with building codes and specifications, as well as engineering standards
